Okemah is a city in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma, United States. The population was 3,038 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Okfuskee CountyGR6. It is the birthplace of folk music legend Woody Guthrie. Okemah is located at 352552N, 961820W (35.430987, -96.305500)GR1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 6.9 km (2.7 mi). 6.7 km (2.6 mi) of it is land and 0.2 km (0.1 mi) of it (2.63%) is water. Okemah is the birthplace of Woody Guthrie (1912 - 1967).
